How does a counterflow air-to-air heat exchanger work?

The Recutech counterflow air-to-air heat exchanger consists of uniquely shaped aluminium plates which are placed one above the other, thus forming a series of channels between which flows the air.

The geometry of individual plates is critically important, since this affects how much thermal energy is transferred from one air flow to the other.

The geometry of RECUTECH plates has been developed in collaboration with specialists from the Technical University of Liberec and is patent protected. The shape has been optimized to achieve the best ratio between maximum thermal efficiency and minimum pressure drop.
